Renegade vs Rebel

I see the difference between a renegade and a rebel as:

A renegade simply is outside of the system. They are just not a part of it. They work around it. They are busy making something else to replace what is crumbling.

A rebel is someone who is fighting the current system. They are against the status quo. They are busy dismantling systems of oppression. They are throwing their bodies on the levers and on the gears of the system.

A renegade seeing this, applauds, appreciates and is outside the fray busy formulating the way things will be in the aftermath of all that has fallen.

I don’t see one as being better than the other or more needed or relevant or right more than the other. They are different. They require different skills, attitudes, energies, and abilities. As similar, as they are in many ways, they are very different too. They fulfill different needs in the collective as a whole. I see nothing better about being one vs the other. But I do think it is important to identify which you are and lean further into it. Don’t think that you have to take on both roles. Devote your focus to the thing that most aligns with who you are.

Renegade: Unconventional, unique, outside the established system. A renegade charts their own path and is unflinchingly themselves. A renegade is honest about who they are... both to themselves and to the world. A renegade who stands in their truth is a beacon, a lighthouse, showing others the way in to their truest and highest self.

So... I ask you... are you a renegade? Or a rebel?
